How Long Does a Refund Take to Process?
On TackTack, most “refunds” are not actual refunds—because we only authorize your payment when you place an order.
How Payment Works
- When you place an order, your bank shows a temporary authorization, not a charge.
- TackTack captures the payment only after the seller ships the item.
- If the order is canceled before shipment, the payment is never captured.
What Happens When an Order Is Canceled?
If your order is canceled:
- The authorization is released, and
- The pending charge simply disappears from your bank statement.
This means there is no refund to process, because no money was taken.
How Long Does the Pending Charge Take to Disappear?
Most banks release the authorization within:
- 1–3 business days, but
- Some banks may take up to 7 days depending on their policies.
Once released, the pending transaction will no longer appear in your account.
